Watch kids closely near it, and know the level rises after heavy rain. 🚶 Downtown is an 18 minute walk, but it is a Gatlinburg walk: sidewalks, some grade, and worth driving in bad weather. 🛣️ Mountain roads have curves and hills. Take it slow, especially in winter. 🐻 Black bears live here. Never feed or approach wildlife, and keep food and trash secured. 🚭 The cabin is smoke-free and vape-free inside. 🐾 No pets at this cabin. 🧴 We leave a starter supply of paper goods and toiletries. Bring extra for a longer stay.

Baskins Creek Road sits in the pocket just east of the Parkway, close enough to walk into downtown Gatlinburg but far enough back that what you hear at night is the creek. It is a quiet residential stretch of cabins and trees, with the mountains rising behind it. 🍽️ Pancake houses, moonshine tastings, the aquarium and the arts district are all within a few minutes. 🍂 In fall the whole valley turns, and this is one of the better places to watch it from a deck. 🐻 Black bears and other wildlife live here too. Never feed or approach them, and keep food and trash secured.

🚶 Downtown Gatlinburg is about an 18 minute walk, roughly 0.9 miles. Sidewalks most of the way, with some grade. Worth driving in bad weather or with small kids. 🚗 A car is still the easiest way to see the Smokies. Free parking on site, and no permit or garage needed. 🚌 The Gatlinburg Trolley runs seasonal routes through town, and rideshare is sometimes available. Neither is reliable enough to plan a trip around. ⛰️ Mountain roads have curves and grades. Take your time, especially after dark or in winter weather.
